The B-25 Stratofortress not only has many notable actions but it also has many variants. The first production was known as the B-52A and three aircrafts were built. The B-52B was the upgraded version with greater engines and avionics. The B-52C gross weight can increase by 30,000 pounds. The 52D, a long-range bomber, entered the service in 1956. The B-52H has the same crew and structural changes as the other variant, the B-52G. A total of 744 B-52s were built.
The B-52H allows five (5) flight crews. It is 159 feet, 4 inches long with wingspan of 185 feet and height of 40 feet, 8 inches. Its wing area is 4,000 square feet and weight 185,000 pounds when empty and 265,000 pounds when loaded. It is powered by 8x Pratt & Whitney TF33-P-3/103 turbofans with 17,000 lbf each. It has a maximum speed of 560 knots; combat radius of 4,480 mi; service ceiling of 55,773 feet; rate of climb of 6,270 feet per minute; and wing loading of 30 pounds per square feet. It is armed with 1x 20 mm M61 Vulcan cannon but was removed from all the operational aircrafts; and up to 60,000 pounds bombs, missiles, and mines which have different configurations.
