The JSF aircraft design has three variants: conventional takeoff and landing (F-35A), short takeoff and vertical landing (F-35B), and carrier-based (F-35C). The program's hallmark of affordability is achieved through a high degree of commonality among the variants; 80% of the parts are shared.
The F-35 is expected to be the world's premier strike aircraft through 2040. It will provide air-to-air capability second only to the F-22 Raptor. The F-35 is being designed to be self-sufficient or part of a multiservice operation, and to rapidly transition between air-to-surface and air-to-air missions while still airborne. The F-35 Lightning II will be four times more effective than legacy fighters in air-to-air engagements, eight times more effective in prosecuting missions against fixed and mobile targets, and three times more effective in non-traditional intelligence surveillance reconnaissance and suppression of enemy air defenses missions. Compared to the aircraft that it will replace, the F-35 will provide significant improvements in payload, range, survivability, lethality and mission effectiveness.
Each F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter scale model we offer is made from resin.
