History:
Apollo 11 space vehicle had a very few changes compared from the Apollo 10 configuration. The most significant structural change was to the lunar module (LM). Added were provisions for the scientific experiments package and the Modular Equipment Storage Assembly (MESA), which housed the experiments and tools which are used during the lunar surface activities.
Used in the Apollo 11 mission, the spacecraft entered lunar orbit at 1:28 p.m. EDT on July 19, 1969. The Apollo 11 consisted of the Command and Service Module "Columbia" and the Lunar Module "Eagle".
The Apollo 11 is currently displayed in the National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C.
