"Betty" was the nickname given by the Allies to the Mitsubishi G4M. It is also called "Hamaki" which mean "cigar" in Japanese. The Betty was all seen all throughout the Pacific and Indian Oceans when it entered World War II.

The Mitsubishi G3M bomber was given the Allied code name "NELL."

The G4M3 Model 34 ended the trend of constantly changing the engine types and armaments in every variant when it introduced self-sealing fuel tanks and armor protection to help reduce its shortcomings when faced with predecessors.

Unfortunately, the Navy issued a specification to Mitsubishi to replace the aircraft with the NELL. The requirements are twin-engine, land-based attack bomber that can fly at a top speed of 247 mph with an altitude of 3,000 meter. The new aircraft bomber type should fly a distance of 4,722 kilometers without the weight of bombs and 3,700 kilometer when it carries 800 kilogram of torpedo.

The Japanese G4M3 Betty model airplane is hand-carved from solid mahogany, hand-painted by our gifted artists, and packed with authentic detail based on the actual Japanese G4M3 Betty aircraft blueprints. Our Japanese G4M3 Betty wooden model aircraft is ideally suited for collectibles, executive gifts, premium and promotional incentives, art gallery "sculptures", and many other purposes.
